Our housing officer wasn't interested, she says we have to actually be attacked in our home before we will become a priority, not just victims of vandalism. The trouble with my stepson is that although it clearly states no children in the flats, he only lives with us half the week, and the council class him as residing permanently with his mum, as she receives tax credits for him and so on. at this rate I think our only option is to ride it out and hopefully we will be able to buy a place in a couple of years, as I'm a student at the minute, and much too poor! hehe i don't mean to moan, I just really sympathise with your situation, and really hope all turns out well for you xx

In response to:The river is rising

Gosh your circumstances sound terrible....won't the council help? as you have a young daughter, shouldn't she have a garden of some sort? The councils and Housing asso are so under pressure now, i guess more in some areas. i met my housing officer the other day and she seems quite nice, have you tried talking to someone or taking free legal advice? Shelter are good. Thanks for your good wishes zoe, and I hope that you get some luck soonx

In response to:The river is rising

Hi there, just read your blog. Hopefully you will have more luck with your council than I'm having with mine. I'm not homeless, but where I live is terrible - I live in a block of flats and my neighbours are drug dealers, the upstairs people party every night and me my partner and 2 year old dont sleep, my car is vandalised regularly and the local kids throw things at my windows, its freezing and we don't have proper heating. but we're adequately housed hehe :s hopefully the council will do more to help you soon, good luck Zoe x

In response to:The river is rising

Thanx Teri, lets hope so!
